About Karuna Therapeutic Services

Karuna is Sanskrit for loving kindness and this is why I chose the name, as it is fitting for the aim of Karuna Therapeutic Services. My name is Natasha and I am the face behind Karuna Therapeutic Services. I am a neurodivergent psychotherapeutic counsellor who passionately believes that healing is not only possible but probable with the right supportive relationship. This is what I hope to bring to those I support through the work that I do. The feedback that I have received from those whom I have worked with have said that they feel that I am "relatable" and "genuine" and feel that my "personality" comes into the room and that they have found this "refreshing". I am not a blank wall therapist and I feel it is important to build an authentic relationship based on openness, honest, and trust.

I have set up Karuna Therapeutic Services as I ardently believe in change, growth and healing. I have been on my own journey of change, growth and healing. and therefore know the transformative power of having an empathic and non-judgemental other that can sit alongside you in your pain and suffering. When we become free from the past, we can enjoy the present and embrace the future.

I am a qualified somatic trauma therapist and integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor. I am also a qualified breathwork coach alongside having a specialism in working with families whose children live with social and emotional struggles due to their identified or unidentified autism, ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence. Trauma, abuse and neurodivergence are my specific areas of interest and where I feel I have a lot of skills and knowledge.

I have been supporting survivors of domestic abuse for the past two years in my local women's refuge, as well as working with those in recovery from substance dependency within a local recovery service. I am passionate about helping those who have lived through trauma and abuse at the hands of loved ones or as a result of their neuro-differences in their journey towards feelings of wholeness and healing.

My approach is trauma-informed at its heart and I will work with you at your own pace and comfort to achieve the goals you set out to achieve.  When your life have been impacted by adversity and/or trauma everyday life can be distressing and overwhelming. Therapeutic work in the form of counselling and/or breathwork can help bring about feelings of safety, stability and vitality to life once more. I am passionate about the work that I do and am excited to share that passion with those that I work with.
